History of the BCCA

The Bartlesville Community Concert Association (BCCA) has provided excellent family entertainment at reasonable prices since 1935. It has introduced such artists as Victor Borge, Guy Lombardo, Ranson Wilson, Peter Nero, The Canadian Brass, The Chicago Symphony, The Colorado Children’s Chorale, Gus Giordano Jazz Dance, Chinese Golden Dragon Acrobats, The Glenn Miller Orchestra, Wanda Jackson, Bryon Berline, Grady Nichols, and other top performers to Bartlesville, and brought tributes to the music of John Denver, Abba, and the Beach Boys. In addition, the BCCA has presented many Educational Outreach Programs, Master Classes and Matinee Performances to students in the area. These are provided at low cost through generous donations from our supporters and grants from various corporations and foundations.

Youth Outreach

The Bartlesville Community Concert Association (BCCA) is once again offering free ticket vouchers to regional youth non-profit groups (e.g., Girl Scouts, school band & music classes, Big Brothers and Sisters, private music instructors of youth, etc.) for each of our concerts during the season.

It is always exciting to see the ‘next generation’ experience the music through our youth outreach. While not all of them will become professional entertainers or musicians, most of the young people visibly enjoy the concerts. Perhaps there are a few new budding vocalists or instrumentalist in the crowd.

The Community Concerts are a great way for the youth to have an evening out, enjoy live entertainment and learn more about music. Our performers are not only selected for their musicianship, but also for their lively stage presence and audience interaction.

In addition to the outreach program, we are working to enrich our entire youth community though mini-concerts, master classes with our performers and other activities geared toward aspiring musicians in our community.

The only things we ask from groups who may be interested are:

  • Each youth needs to be at least 8 years old
  • Each student needs to be involved in some form of performing arts (private music lessons included)
  • Each group has proper adult supervision accompanying the youth, appropriate for the age of the youth
  • Each group should give the Outreach Coordinator one day’s advance notice prior to each concert as to how many tickets for that concert are needed.
  • Each youth will receive free admission to the concert. For adults, we provide free admission for every 5 students chaperoned. Adults planning to attend with the youth in addition to the one adult per 5 youth will need to purchase a ticket. Special arrangements may be made if necessary depending on circumstances.

If your group is interested, please select the concerts you want to attend, then contact Outreach Coordinator Warren Neff at the email address outreach@bccamusic.org (or by phone at 918-335-2274), and give him a list of students & chaperones planning to attend. This list will be made available to the Community Center box office where tickets will be prepared for each person, and made available for pickup at the window 30 minutes prior to the concert. Please contact Mr. Neff if the planned number of attendees changes prior to any given concert.

It is perfectly fine to contact Mr. Neff prior to each concert if you would rather make arrangements for each concert as the date for the concert approaches. Please have your list of students to Mr. Neff a full 24 hrs prior to the concert so adequate time is given to the Community Center box office for ticket preparation. Please DO NOT contact the Community Center box office directly as the office staff are hard at work on other pre-concert arrangements, and are graciously printing these tickets in advance as a favor to the BCCA.
